The classic Northeast journey: combining the clouds, waterfalls, and living root bridges of Meghalaya with thrilling Kaziranga rhino safaris.
A 5-day itinerary covers Shillong, Cherrapunji, Dawki, and Mawlynnong comfortably. Adding offbeat Jaintia hills or Shnongpdeng camping requires 6 to 7 days.
The single living root bridge at Riwai (near Mawlynnong) requires only an easy 10-minute flat walk accessible to everyone. The Double Decker at Nongriat involves 3,500 stone stairs and is recommended for active walkers.
